End Table – Ice On Fire

Colorful end table

On this end table a fight is going on:
Ice can cause burns. Liquid nitrogen smokes. These are characteristics that are similar to characteristics of fire.
And fire can have all colors. From white to red to blue.
Fire can melt ice. And ice can extinguish fire.
Under the “ice” on the table top a fire is burning.

Paint and sheet metal pattern

The decoration of this colorful end table has several layers.

Paint

First a mix of merging into on another colors of paint, FIRE.
Over this a thin white wash in a geometrical pattern.

Sheet metal

On top of these two painted layers a checkered pattern of white colored gold leaf -ICE- which is already “melting”.

At the left side of the table top the fire has beaten the ice.Here, the flames are rising upwards, represented by the small cabinet with yellow gold leaf.

The table legs at the back are piercing the table top. The gilded pyramid shapes burn up through the table top.

They are placed a bit to the front so you can place this modern side table directly to the wall.
